I use this blog as a way to share my research on the artists featured in the Heroes of Blues, Jazz and Country Music Staircase at the Old Town School of Folk Music, in Chicago, IL.

There are 14 full portraits of musicians on the staircase, represented by famed cartoonist, R. Crumb.  On this blog, I feature one of these musicians every month (roughly), moving from the bottom of the staircase to the top.
I am a faculty member, community member and student at the Old Town School of Folk Music.  Here’s some more information about me.

The staircase was created as part of the expansion project that the Old Town School opened in January of 2012.  Here is an article from the Chicago Tribune detailing that expansion.
